GB Boxing kick off 2026 by selecting 14 boxers to compete in upcoming Boxam tournament
Fourteen boxers from GB Boxing have been selected to compete in the upcoming Boxam Tournament, which will mark the squad’s first competitive action of 2026.
Prior to the competition getting underway from 2–8 February in La Nucía, Spain, the squad will take part in a multi-nation training camp to complete their final preparations.
The team is made up of nine men and five women and includes members of both the Podium and Academy squads. It also features Wales’ Rosie Eccles, who returns to the ring following a long injury lay-off, having last competed at Paris 2024.
Joining her will be U23 European Champion Kayla Allen. The welterweight picked up gold in Hungary last year and will be hoping her fine run of form continues, while Mary-Kate Smith (W75kg) was also in action in Budapest, where she collected bronze.
Another boxer in good form heading into the Boxam is Isaac Okoh. The heavyweight will be looking to make it three golds from as many tournaments, having ended 2025 as a back-to-back champion at both the Tammer Tournament in Finland and the World Boxing Cup Finals in India.
The same can be said of Kyle-Shaw Tullin (M75kg) and Matt Williams (M90+kg), who both sealed gold in GB Boxing’s final competitive action of last year at the Zagreb Grand Prix.
Also included in the squad selection is the Scottish Academy trio of Aaron Cullen (M54kg), Isa Akram (M60kg), and Sonny Kerr (M70kg).
Completing the squad are Ivy-Jane Smith (W54kg), Ellis Trowbridge (M55kg), Vivien Parsons (W57kg), Jack Dryen (M60kg), and Joe Turner (M65kg) — the latter making his GB Boxing debut after joining the World Class Programme in September last year.
The 14 boxers selected will represent England, Scotland and Wales at the Boxam. The full team is:
