As part of its ongoing community impact work, GB Boxing is supporting ‘A Night of Solidarity’, which aims to celebrate the unifying power of sport and raise funds for Firefighters’ charities, youth sport organisations and community groups in areas affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy nine years ago.

The project has been created to recognise the actions of the local community in the aftermath of the Grenfell fire when boxing and sports clubs came together with firefighters’ charities to help the community rebuild, create safe spaces for young people, and begin the process of healing and restoring hope to everyone affected by the tragedy.

‘A Night of Solidarity’ is based around three events in the Autumn of 2026 that are designed to give young people from the area a memorable experience, recognise the contribution of sports clubs in supporting the local community, and raise funds for firefighters’ charities and local boxing clubs and sports projects.

A website for ‘A Night of Solidarity’ has been set-up along with a fundraising page where people can donate money HERE.

The first event is a reception in Westminster, ‘Ringside on the River Terrace’, which will take place on Thursday 3 September 2026, and will give youth boxers from clubs in North Kensington a chance to showcase their skillswith a demonstration of boxing in the Houses of Parliament.

The event will be the first time ever that a full-sized boxing ring has seen action in the Palace of Westminsterand will be attended by Government representatives, MPs and the Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan.

Tokyo 2020 gold medallists, Lauren Price MBE and Galal Yafai MBE, will also be attending, along with coaches and boxers from the current GB Boxing squad, including Performance Director, Rob McCracken CBE, and some of the men and women that won gold at the recent Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The renown sports journalist and author of what is widely regarded to be the definitive book on the life of Muhammad Ali, Thomas Hauser, is also expected to be at ‘Ringside on the River Terrace’.

Following this, a group of boxers from clubs in north west London will visit Great Britain’s Olympic boxing programme at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) in Sheffield where they will have the chance to meet men and women from the GB Boxing squad and train alongside the men and women that hope to represent Team GB at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Finally, ‘A Night of Solidarity’ will take place on Saturday 13 November 2026 at Kensington Town Hall when a select team from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) Boxing Club will compete against a North Kensington team, made-up of men, women and youth boxers from a variety of clubs in the local area and across London, over 12 bouts of Olympic-style boxing.

The evening aims to raise funds for local sports groups and Firefighters’ Charity and will give 24 young boxers from the area, including people that lost family members in the tragedy, the opportunity to take part in an evening of competitive boxing.

GB Boxing’s Chief Executive, Matt Holt, said: “GB Boxing is committed to having a positive social impact and through our community activities we work with a range of partners to support initiatives to help improve the life chances of young people in disadvantaged communities. ‘A Night of Solidarity’ is a great project that it is completely aligned with GB Boxing’s values and approach and we are very happy to support it.”

Rob McCracken, Performance Director, GB Boxing, added: “We look forward to welcoming the boxers to the home of GB Boxing in October and making sure they have a great experience and get the chance to pick-up a few tips from training with our boxers and coaches.

‘A Night of Solidarity’ is being delivered with the help of the LFB, Gerda Security Products and iVB Boxing and is supported by GB Boxing, England Boxing, London Boxing, Armz House and the LFB Boxing Club.

The charities and organisations that will be supported by the project are: MO1 Youths, Armz House, Fit for Life Youth. Power Hub, All for One Community Club, United Against Violence, KOTG, The Dalgarno Trust and the Firefighter’s Charity.
