U22 and Youth boxers set to compete at upcoming Boxam tournament

GB Boxing will send a team of eight boxers to the upcoming Boxam Tournament in Alicante from 15th-21st May 2023.

They will be joined in Spain by an additional three members of the academy squad who will be travelling with the England Boxing team.

The competition will be contested by Junior, Youth and U22 boxers only.

After being crowned champion of their respective weight categories at last month’s National Amateur Championships, flyweight Hamza Uddin and lightweight Lucy Kings-Wheatly return to action.

Kelsey Oakley is the only member of the podium squad set to compete in Spain and will be making her GB Boxing debut when she steps through the ropes.

Also set to make their debuts are featherweight Ellis Trowbridge, light-welterweight Sacha Hickey and light-middleweight Dan Toward.

Completing the squad is Patrick Hewitt who won gold at last year’s Golden Gong as well as Patris Mughalzai who took part at the most recent Tammer competition.

The three boxers travelling with England Boxing are flyweight Lauren Mackie, bantamweight Owen Ketley and heavyweight Amber Moss-Birch and will all compete in the Youth contests.

All boxers will represent England at the upcoming Boxam.  The full team is:
