Podium2pro
Podium2Pro was established in April 2022 to allow selected Olympic boxers to continue to train in the GB Boxing gym at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield while pursuing careers in the professional ranks.
Under the agreement, the boxers are trained and managed by GB Boxing and receive access to the facilities and support staff of the World Class Programme (WCP), in return for a portion of their earnings.
It means that male and female athletes who want to remain in the GB Boxing environment are able to do so and that the organisation is able to offer a whole career pathway which enables GB Boxing to support boxers at every stage of their careers from Olympic-style boxing through to the professional ranks.
Podium2Pro was established in response to requests boxers who wanted to continue training with GB Boxing in their professional careers and enables them to continue working with coaches and staff they know and trust, while benefiting from the training environment and expertise of the WCP.

The Podium2Professional boxers train alongside the men and women in GB Boxing squad and provide them with high-quality sparring. Through their achievements and experience they are also able to act as inspirational role models and mentors to the next generation of GB boxers that can share their experience and help to raise standards throughout the gym.
Podium2Pro operates separately from GB Boxing’s publicly funded WCP. Professional boxers do not receive any funding and instead have a contractual relationship with GB Boxing covering coaching, management, support services and use of the GB Boxing gym. GB Boxing receives a percentage of the boxers’ professional earnings and all revenues generated through the initiative are reinvested in the WCP.
Podium2Pro also maintains an important link between professional boxing and future Olympic opportunities. It means Olympic medallists retain their connection with GB Boxing whilst boxing as a professional and, should they decide to pursue another Games, have the opportunity to be re-integrated into the WCP and seek potential selection for future Olympic qualifying competitions.
