DRAW: Lauren Mackie set to compete in opening contest of Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with four GB Boxers in action on day one
LAUREN MACKIE will compete in the opening bout the competition when Glasgow 2026 gets underway tomorrow, with four members of the squad in action on day one.
Mackie leads the team out in the very first bout of the tournament, taking on Amina Faki of Kenya at bantamweight (W54kg) in the morning session, which starts at 11:00.
The Northampton boxer will be followed soon after by Ellis Trowbridge, who boxes Ricksen Nomleas of Vanuatu at bantamweight (M55kg), with that contest starting at 11:30.
Two more will be in action in the evening session, which gets underway at 18:15.
Lucy Kings Wheatley takes on Petronella Nokenoke of Papua New Guinea at light-welterweight (W60kg), before Patris Mughalzai closes out the day against Abdul Omar of Ghana at lightweight (M60kg), with that bout starting at 19:45.
