Eight boxers from Great Britain to compete at EUBC U22 European Championships in Croatia

EIGHT men and women from Great Britain will compete in this year’s EUBC U22 European Boxing Championship in Porec, Croatia, 13th-23rd March 2022.

The group is made-up of five members of the GB Boxing squad and three female boxers selected by England Boxing.

The GB Boxing contingent includes the Welsh trio of Taylor Bevan and twin brothers, Garan and Ioan Croft who all joined the world class programme (WCP) for boxing at the start of 2022.

All three will be looking to build on the success they enjoyed in their first competitive outing as members of the GB Boxing squad, when they won gold at January’s Tammer tournament in Finland.

The Welshmen will be joined in Croatia by England’s Joe Tyers and Sam Hickey of Scotland.

Light-welterweight, Tyers, has enjoyed a strong start since joining the GB Boxing squad in June, 2021 and won gold at last year’s Golden Gong in North Macedonia and silver in his most recent outing at the Tammer tournament.

Middleweight, Hickey, will be making his first international appearance since he joined the GB Boxing squad in January 2022.

The three women that will travel with the GB Boxing party have been selected by England Boxing and include flyweight, Savannah Stubley, bantamweight, Olivia Holmes, and featherweight Sameenah Toussaint.

The group will travel to Croatia at the end of this week and will compete in their home nation vests at the tournament.
