Welsh Boxing Performance Programme Boxing Session Coach
Welsh Boxing is looking for enthusiastic and dynamic coaches to join the Performance Team on a session-based role in an exciting time for boxing in Wales. Welsh Boxing has seen its most successful period with the first ever World Champion and Olympic Champion, as well as delivering an historic medal haul at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this year.
About Welsh Boxing
Funded by Sport Wales, Welsh Boxing is the recognised national governing body for amateur boxing in Wales. It is a national member of the International Boxing Association (IBA) and is also a home nation member of the British Amateur Boxing Association (BABA).
Formed in 1910, the Welsh Amateur Boxing Association (WABA) was established as a way of promoting and developing amateur boxing in Wales. Today, as a limited company by guarantee, we have over 120 affiliated clubs and 4,500 members of all genders, ethnicities and ages – the work we do is more important than ever.
As the sport goes from strength to strength, our Board of Directors help to ensure Welsh amateur boxing’s continued growth, overseeing the effective day-to-day and long-term governance and delivery of Welsh Boxing’s objectives.
Key Tasks
Support the performance coaching team to deliver an individualised technical development plan for WBPP boxers.
To support the creation, delivery and review of holistic development programmes for WBPP boxers.
Work with the Sport Wales Sport Science and Sport Medicine team to deliver the WBPP performance support strategy.
To work with the performance coaching team to create and maintain a high-performance environment.
Support the performance coaching team to deliver the competition and training schedule in conjunction with the WABA Performance Director and Head of Pathways.
To support the WABA Head of Pathways to collect and review all performance/assessment information under the direction of the Performance Director.
To be available at weekends and evenings, as well as prepared to travel to events.
